Bollywood Grooves and Bollywood Dance
Get into the Bollywood Groove!
The Massive popularity in Bollywood films in recent years may have been the catalyst for soaring numbers of students turning up for one of the capital’s dance classes. ……and the students of Bollywood Grooves (www.Bollywoodgrooves.com), who learn their moves at Danceworks have been attracting considerable attention.
Since her first class began over five years ago, teacher Vandana Alimchandani has courted the national media and Sunday broadsheets and she and her teachers have been overwhelmed with offers for charity, corporate and media events.
Bollywood Grooves was the first London based dance company providing Bollywood & Bhangra weekly classes across central London for complete beginners to advanced levels. It’s great for a workout as well as learning some Bollywood style choreography. They are not simply a Dance company providing weekly classes; they provide private tuition too, You could also incorporate an Indian dance class into your Party, Birthday celebration or Hen night. They provide performers for any occasion from media & corporate events to weddings & charity events.
Together they have taught most of the Lambada that is seen in London. Many of their students have reached a professional level and won dance competitions. They’ve been giving classes at Danceworks in London for 14 years and have promoted Lambada around the world by giving lessons and doing shows in many different countries. They’ve performed on MTV and most recently on the BBC with Simply Red for Strictly Come Dancing. Berg’s dance group, Viva Brazil, has performed all over the UK.
Berg and Solange’s passion for dancing comes from their Brazilian roots and their success as teachers lies both in their unique teaching methods and also in their ability to impassion and inspire their students. They focus primarily on rhythm, balance, posture and coordination and make this the most important aspect of their lessons. Strict and disciplined teachers, they’re committed to achieving real results with their students. An instructional DVD is now available using clear and effective teaching techniques so you can also learn at home.
Berg’s Lambada website was the first of its kind and has held the number one position on the web since 1996. For the last 10 years he has also organised dance holidays to the home of Lambada - Porto Seguro, Brazil - where his students get to experience the dance in its authenticity. In 2005, he held the first international Zouk-Lambada dance congress in Porto Seguro, with people coming from 18 different countries.
Berg is also an experienced DJ and has been one of the main promoters of Latin club nights in London at venues such as Bar Madrid, Havana, Paparazzi, El Metro and many others. He continues to work passionately to keep Lambada’s magic alive and recognised.
So come and try this beautiful dance. |
